During the first winter of the pandemic and following a creative hiatus, Feist had an idea for a concert that would do justice to the new conditions. Instead of standing as a crowd in front of a stage as usual, the audience would spread out in a circle (keeping an appropriate distance) around the Canadian singer-songwriter; the intimate setting for her new concert format, «Multitudes», was born. The Zürcher Theater Spektakel co-produced the project in 2021, but further pandemic waves prevented it from reaching Europe until this year. In April, Feist released the album «Multitudes» and in September she finally presents the project at the Theater Spektakel.
During a concert with a mix of band and solo performances, the audience can experience various facets of Feist’s artistry. Her musical show will be framed by a video projection, underlining the feeling of nostalgic comfort her voice is likely to trigger immediately, even among Feist newcomers. With «Multitudes», the pop icon explores the big questions of life and comes to terms with the loss of her father and the birth of her child. How are the subjective and the universal connected? Can empathy and individualism be united? And, will it ever be possible to solve the riddle of our existence? A Feistian musical experience like no other, ardently focussed on introspection. (se)
