Renata Carvalho «Corpo sua autobiografia»
Some artists who perform at Theater Spektakels also realise works in other disciplines and media in addition to their stage productions. For example, Jelena Jureša and Renata Carvalho, whose performances are complemented with contributions for the screen. We will show these cinematic works during the festival in cooperation with Filmpodium Zürich.
Renata Carvalho, who presents her performance «Manifesto Transpofágico» on stage, is represented at the Filmpodium with the documentary film «Corpo sua autobiografia». The film shows a body in social and familial isolation – caused by the fact that Carvalho is a trans woman. In the film, Carvalho tells the story and the transcendence of her body, but also speaks of structural transphobia.
Following the screening, the audience will have the opportunity to exchange views with Renata Carvalho in a moderated discussion. (zts)
